For a new big history.

Following the call of current IBHA president Daniel Barreiros "For a new big history" these pages will first examine the assumptions on which big history (as it is presented now) was conceived and the claims that were made by the big history pioneers as to what it would do for people. Just like Socrates thought that the unexamined life was not worth living, I think that the unexamined big history is not worth teaching and/or promoting.

Then I would like to gesture towards new ways to conceive of big history.
